Domestic/International Wire Transfers

When you need to receive or send money over long distances, it’s quick and easy with The White House FCU and our partner Mid-Atlantic Corporate FCU. For example, you can use our wire transfer service to electronically send money to a friend, relative or business associate. Wiring money can be especially useful for situations where money is needed right away, such as unexpected vehicle repairs or sudden medical emergencies.

Incoming Wire Transfers

Funds can be sent directly to your Credit Union account from a person in another area, and you do not have to fill out a deposit form from the Credit Union. To receive your funds, you will need to provide the following information to the sender:

Credit to: The White House Federal Credit Union
	  Washington, DC
           ABA Number/Routing Number: 254075551

Final credit: Your name (the beneficiary) and the account number at The White House FCU where you want the incoming funds to be deposited

Outgoing Wire Transfers

Through The White House FCU, you can send funds from your account at The White House FCU to anyone in the world, whether or not they have an account at a financial institution. To send funds to a person without an account, follow the “Western Union Transfers” instructions below. To send funds to someone who has an account at a bank or credit union, follow the “Domestic Wire Transfers” or “International Wire Transfers” instructions below.

Western Union Transfers

With Western Union, funds from your Credit Union account can be sent anywhere in the United States or to any of over 245,000 offices in over 200 countries and territories. The funds you send can be picked up by the recipient at a Western Union location in the area you choose. Just fill out our Western Union Request Form and fax it to the Credit Union at 202-456-2413.

Domestic Transfers

To send an outgoing wire to a location within the United States, you will need the following information from the recipient:

• Name and address of the recipient’s bank
• Name and account number of the recipient
• Identification number of the recipient’s bank (a.k.a. the Routing and Transit Number or the American Bankers Association Number)

After you obtain this information, download our Domestic Wire Funds Request Form and fill it out. You can then fax the form to the Credit Union at 202-456-2413 or bring it to the Credit Union.

International Transfers

To send an outgoing wire to a location outside of the United States, you will need the following information from the recipient:

• Name and address of the recipient’s bank
• Name, street address and account number of the recipient
• IBAN (International Bank Account Number) of the recipient’s bank (used only for wire transfers sent to European locations)
• SWIFT (Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication) address of the recipient’s bank (this address is also known as the Bank Identifier Code)

After you obtain this information, download our Foreign Wire Funds Request Form and fill it out. You can then fax the form to the Credit Union at 202-456-2413 or bring it to the Credit Union.

Other Information

Generally, domestic wire transfers ordered before 2 p.m. will be delivered on the same business day. International wire transfers ordered before noon will be credited to the recipient’s account within one to two business days. Incoming wire transfers are free.
